'Stranger Things' Season 5: When does Volume 2 come out? And Volume 3? Everything to know about the remaining episodes before the finale.

Stranger Things fans, how are we holding up after Volume 1? The first installment of the fifth and final season of Netflix’s hit series dropped last week — and diehard fans are anxiously awaiting more episodes.

Season 5 of Stranger Things returns three years after its fourth season debuted on the streamer. Picking up in the fall of 1987, Hawkins, Ind., is under military quarantine following the explosive events of Season 4. But the gang, including the teens and adults battling to save the world, is determined to find and kill Vecna, the dangerous mastermind of the Upside Down.

“It’s cool when they tie everything back to the beginning. It was perfectly done,” Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, told the Hollywood Reporter of Season 5. “It was really satisfying, and I think that’s what speaks to most of this season, especially with Eleven’s arc — getting those answers and satisfaction to closing these storylines.”

So, how many episodes are left of Stranger Things? And what can we expect from the remaining two volumes? Here’s everything we know so far about the rest of Stranger Things Season 5.

When does Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 2 drop? What about Volume 3?

Hold up. What happened in Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1?

The fifth season of Stranger Things started with a bang. A lot goes down, so we’ll spare you the nitty-gritty, but there were a couple of pleasant surprises — like the return of Max Mayfield. The reveal comes at the very end of Episode 3, but Max’s situation is further explored in Episode 4. Basically, while her physical body is stuck in a coma, her consciousness is a prisoner to Vecna’s mindscape; she’s living inside Vecna’s memories.

But the biggest surprise of Season 5, Volume 1? That Will Byers has psychic powers similar to Vecna and Eleven. At the end of Episode 4, Demogorgons have separately cornered many of his friends, and just as they’re about to attack, Will manages to destroy the monsters telekinetically. Will also gets a nosebleed after tapping into his powers, which is a signature side effect that Eleven has.

Will’s powers aren’t inherent, though.

“He’s able to channel these powers from Vecna and use it, sort of puppeteering,” Stranger Things cocreator Ross Duffer told Variety. “If he’s not close to the hive mind, he’s not able to access or tap it.”

While Eleven and Vecna’s powers come from within, Will is only able to access his when he’s in close proximity to Vecna.

“He got it because he got hooked into the hive mind,” Matt Duffer, cocreator of Stranger Things, added. “He taps into the hive mind, and then he can manipulate anything within the hive. You’ll see how far he can take it as you continue to watch. But that’s how he’s able to manipulate the monster.”

Have the cast or creators said anything about the rest of Season 5?

The Duffer Brothers told Variety that Volume 2 will feature more of Vecna’s memories. Max and Holly’s escape from Vecna’s mind is also being referred to as the “new Russia storyline.” As fans recall, Joyce, Murray and Hopper were in Russia, separated from the rest of the characters, for a significant portion of Season 4.

“They’re kind of isolated off on their own, Max and Holly. We’re very happy with how it integrates with the other storylines,” Matt told the outlet.

Volume 2, according to Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Vecna, will serve as an “explosive setup” to the show’s grand finale.

“They should feel like what they’re doing is holding onto their chairs going, ‘No, no, no,’ that’s how I want them to feel, particularly with what I’m up to,” Bower told Deadline of how he hopes the audience reacts to Volume 2. “I think Volume 1 is, it’s funny, because it’s like, I want to call it a setup, but it is an explosive setup to what continues to happen in Volume 2 and subsequently [the finale].”
